WOW! June just FLEW by! Because of YOUR support, a young abused pregnant mom with two molested toddlers is now safe and supported as she restarts her family.
In June, we supported 32 survivors with 170 services:
- 7 crisis interventions,
- 8 emergency hotel stays,
- 8 urgent direct financial assistance gifts to pay rent / utilities or hire lawyers and
- 30 court hearings for protection orders, criminal charges or divorce / custody agreements.
Community Advocacy and Prevention Efforts
Our mission doesn’t stop with triage and serving those in need. We’re also hard at work with the community at large to reduce the overall need for our services. Highlights from April through June:
- Distributed over 300 drink spike test cards
- Onboarded 6 Safe Bars in Eureka (more soon!)
- Collaborated with 6 local Safe Org nonprofits establishing violence prevention policies
- Co-hosted law enforcement response to sexual assault training with the Arkansas Coalition Against Sexual Assault (ACASA)
- Co-hosted organizational leadership accountability training with the Ozark Rape Crisis Center
Public “green light” violence de-escalation and intervention trainings coming soon.
NEXT… we need your help to keep going. We’re tenaciously doing more with less. It costs around $500-$900 per client which amounts to an average of $15k a month to provide core services.
