October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month & We’ve Got Some Big News

Thank you for being a Friend of The Purple Flower!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this month, we invite you to join us in spreading awareness, honoring survivors, and supporting The Purple Flower by helping us share what’s happening this month—including our vigils, starting tonight 💜

This Week

  • Candlelight VigilsWe’re holding vigils across the county to honor victims and survivors of domestic violence. Please help spread the word by sharing on Facebook and with your personal network and submitting names of those you’d like to honor.
  • Community Info BoothsStop by one of our information tables this month! It’s a great chance to say hello, learn more, and volunteer.
  • Seeds of Hope FundraiserHelp us raise $27,000 in 27 Days in honor of the $27M that domestic violence costs Carroll County. Yes, you read that right: millions of dollars. We lost all federal funding as of Oct 1 and we need your help to keep our life-saving services and 24/7 Crisis Line running. We’re also looking for in-kind donations for our silent auction and awards
More in our attached flyer and on Facebook.

We also have a new website and have been blown away by the additional support rolling in around all the ways you can help 💜We are the only resource center in the county for those impacted by domestic and sexual violence. Without funding, hundreds of families every year would have nowhere else to go for critical support. Thank you for your continued support! Please share with your friends, colleagues, friends, and organizations. We’re looking for Anyone can create a team to compete for top prizes and recognition.
